Keesing is proud to announce the launch of the Daily News Puzzle, a new feature on BNR, one of the Netherlands’ leading news platforms. This exciting addition to BNR’s site brings Keesing’s digital B2B platform to a wider audience, offering daily puzzles based on the top news of the day.
AI-powered innovation for news and puzzles
The Daily News Puzzle blends AI with Keesing’s expertise in puzzle craftsmanship. By combining intelligent automation with human ingenuity, the platform transforms current news articles into engaging, high-quality puzzles.
“We’ve crafted this puzzle for an audience that is curious, critical, and loves a good challenge,” says Marc Adriani, Editor-in-Chief of BNR. “The News Puzzle is the perfect blend of staying informed and sharpening your mind.”
Bringing automation and human craft together
The development journey for the News Puzzle started almost a year ago, with Keesing’s Digital Team using AI to scan and process news articles into unique puzzle content. Ingmar Kooij, Global B2B Director, explains, “This puzzle serves multiple goals for our clients – from boosting article reads with direct links to the solution, to providing publishers with customisable tools that ensure the puzzle meets their needs.”
The platform generates puzzles early each morning, ensuring fresh content for readers even when many editors are not yet at work. “AI is powerful, but we always ensure that there’s human oversight to maintain the personal touch that makes these puzzles special,” says Jeroen Moorman, the lead developer on the project and Manager Digital Development.
A Strategic Partnership for Success
Mechteld van de Poll, Sales Manager B2B at Keesing Nederland; ‘BNR has been instrumental in the success of the launch. As the exclusive launch partner, BNR is helping optimise the News Puzzle based on live audience feedback. The partnership also includes a promotional campaign and a traveling puzzle wall at various BNR events.’
“The collaboration with Keesing has been fantastic,” says Adriani. “Together, we’ve created something that is both innovative and deeply connected to our brand and audience.”
A Game-Changing Product
“Beyond the editorial benefits, our puzzles are designed to keep readers engaged longer, creating habits that lead to sustained value for the publisher. We’re confident this product will help drive that long-term connection,” says Ingmar.
We’re thrilled to see the Daily News Puzzle in action. With every challenge, we’re excited for more people to experience the fun, brain-boosting power of Braintainment. After all, who says news can’t be a workout for the mind?
