The role

As a  Senior Business Consultant/ Analyst, you are the linchpin in the team regarding numbers and analysis.  You are responsible for making tactical and strategic analyses and creating dashboards and reports.  A clear interpretation of your analysis will lead to insight and action and show commercial opportunities. In this role, you are part of the Business Intelligence department, and you will work closely with international sales and operations. Your most important responsibilities will be:

  • Business partner for ao sales regarding steering information and commercial opportunities;
  • Pricing: data-driven pricing models, price elasticity research, pricing analysis;
  • Tactical and strategic analysis regarding sales, distribution, costs that lead to recommendations and advice;
  • Create and validate sales prediction models for sales of different countries and for different channels (e.g. single-copy sales, subscriptions,  BTB,  E-commerce);
  • Signal trends  in  the  market and from competitors, and propose changes in commercial policies;
  • Analysis of marketing actions and recommendations for optimization;
  • Development of new analysis and development of dashboards for management information

In this position, you will report to the  Business Intelligence Manager.

 

Profile

  • You have a higher professional education or university, e.g. Economics, Business science, Business computer science, and Econometrics. But also medical or social studies could be a good match. At least a study where data  and quantitative analysis play an important role;
  • You are curious and are willing to really understand the business issues. You can explain complex technical matters in a simple way also to people who are less data-savvy. Complex issues are for you the cherry on the cake and are a challenge that you are willing to accept together with other people;
  • You have excellent communicative skills (Dutch and English) and are a great stakeholder manager;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a BI analyst preferably in the Retail, Media, or FMCG industry;
  • Experience with modeling;
  • Preferably experience with pricing;
  • Preferably experience with business intelligence tools  like Power BI, QlikView, or Tableau;
  • Very experienced with excel;
  • Good SQL skills;
  • Great analytical skills;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in the interpretation of data and advising management based on this;
  • You are good at “storytelling” and you can convince other people;
  • You work accurately and result-driven;
  • If you have an affinity for puzzles and digital media, that would be great!
